  1. I have a sizable Hungarian vocabulary from traveling to Hungary over dozen times to visit family for 6 weeks at a time. I have learned many words but I cannot successfully make a correct sentence using these words. I know the names of things, colors, numbers, days of week, Hungarian alphabet and sounds but that does not give me the conversation capability in Hungarian. I hope to learn this in your class.

  2. Dr. Carl O. Nehlig and Dorothy Nehlig. We are both looking forward to the upcoming class John. As you know I'm not of Hungarian background but I am married to Dorothy Good Nehlig who is! If you would like I could develop a Facebook page for this class? Would be great if we learned the conversation phrases to be able to carry on shopping trips, site seeing, and travel in Hungary. We plan on returning to Hungary in a couple of years.

  3. I was raised being aware of my Hungarian heritage and enjoying the food. However, there was no Hungarian spoken at home unless it was the name of a recipe. I took Barbi's classes until COVID ended it. I am excited to learn more of the language and hopefully more of the history and culture, too.
I am an American of Hungarian descent, but I did not come from Arpadhon, Hungarian Settlement, LA. My American Hungarian ancestors settled in the Great Lakes area of the US. I joined the cultural association to be more connected to my heritage. Before coming here, the only Hungarians I knew were my dad, his family and my siblings!
